Re: American's Problem: Obesity

Tran's American's Problem: Obesity
I agree with you, about how unhealthy and lazy Americans are. I for myself workout everyday to stay in shape and look better everyday, but thats just me, I like to look good and be fit. I cant speak for all of Americans but when they don't choose to workout or run because they "have no time," I just ask them one question, "how many hours do we have per day?" So time should never be an issue on why people are not working out, but i can understand why some people cant workout because illness or injuries, and thats fine. I just can't stand people who say they have no time to cook so they rather eat fast food that isn't healthy at all. Then when the start getting fat or having health problems, they blame the fast food companies which yes they do contribute to those problems, but in the end its the consumer's fault. Because i'm pretty sure all of the fast food products have nutrition facts, and its not that hard to tell which products are healthy and unhealthy, so their should be no excuses saying "I didn't know it was unhealthy." And in todays time there are so much healthy food you can buy at the market, and heat up in like 10 minutes and takes no skill at all to cook and no time. People who just say they have no time are just lazy, its just ridiculous. Americans should start taking the stairs instead of elevators or escalators, they should walk to get the mail and not take a car, just simple things can make a big difference in health, I hope Americans change their ways.

Selfish

The government has no idea how much time they have wasted and are wasting with pointless media coverage. This country is already in so much trouble, but if it keeps heading in this direction where covering weddings that don't even matter are more important than how to solve the problems that we are facing we are going to keep falling and are going to be thought of as a joke. No other country is going to come to us if they need help if we are distracted by a wedding and a birth certificate.
Another problem is the birth certificate that our President could have showed the public a long time ago, but instead he wanted Donald Trump to get attention so may split the republican party and get more votes for himself in the next election. And for Trump this was in favor for himself as well, he is running for president in the next election and needs more attention for himself so he may get more votes, and he can by saying he is the only one who got the President to give him a birth certificate, and saying to the american people "I have done a great service". All of this attention is all selfishness acts of both President Barrack Obama and Donald Trump to win them votes in the upcoming election, and no attention on how to help this government out of debt. But Donald Trump had a good point in this article i read in the latimes that one of the reasons this country is in such a big debt is that we nearly don't produce anything, we always have to go to china for our main source of products, Trump says he wants to buy from the United States but half of the stuff he wants to buy is from china and not from the United States.
The Government needs to regulate and find how to overcome these issues instead of thinking of the upcoming election...where tomorrow has its own worries,  the government needs to get focused and fight these real problems before they get worst and this country ends up being owned by China. Our future kids are already going to be paying for the actions that this government is doing or not doing.

Response to Blog

I just finished reading and commented on Jr_lara's Blog about our government. This is what I wrote.

I agree with you completely, I also did my topic on government spending, and its just sad how the government is taking away jobs from the people that our educating us. I mean doesn't the United States need more educated people to help us get out of deficit. Its not fair that the government takes money from the people that need it and not they people who don't. People are just not informed on what the government is actually doing, and that is the problem, not enough people know to fight it. The most people do is complain.
I do also believe that we need to help mexico out, I mean we can't be scared of our next door neighbors, we have to go in their and settle with the drug cartel before it gets worst. Its just sad that their drug cartel is Law and anyone who doesn't follow them is dead. It just seems like our government doesn't want to get involved in other peoples problems when we have our own.
On the topic of gas, we do need a new invention other than the smart car, because not everyone wants to drive something that looks like a mouse, especially in Texas with everyone having trucks, its just not safe to have one of those. We need some kind of alternative fuel so we don't have to rely on other countries to give us gas, and that way we can set a price on our own, instead of the gas companies telling us what price to pay.
Overall our government and people of the United States need help, and if we can all just work together instead of fighting over who's party is better, maybe we can actually solve some problems that we are facing today.

Blindfolded Judgement

The Government has such egregious judgements on where to cut spending, they never seem to cut from programs that aren't prudent, they almost always cut programs that help the poor. I read in the New York Times that there was recently a house budget bill called the H.R.1. which proposes that the WIC program, which helps women, infants and children in international food and health, be cut off. Which will hurt or kill 18 million people, these people are going to suffer from the loss of food and medicine...But don't worry the government is cutting spending...yeah right, which is more important lives or money?
The worst thing is that cutting this program along with other programs is not even going to scratch the surface of the deficit we the United States is in right now. I just don't get why the government would cut these programs where its going to cost more live than save money. Government jobs are way overpaid, they should get a cut on salaries, to see how they feel when money is cut from themselves only then will they be able to realize what they are doing to millions of hungry people that depend on this program to stay alive. This bill also increases defense spending, I understand we need defenses but we are wasting billions of dollars in weapons that don't work well or don't work at all. If anything they should cut from defense spending. Taxes is another big ordeal in which the tax rate on nation's richest people have dropped about half in the last 20 years, and the biggest shock that I read in this article was that General Electric didn't pay any taxes on their $14 billion profits, thats just ridiculous, I don't know to much about taxing, but the one thing I do know is that I get taxed when I get my paycheck, and if $14 billion is General Electric's paycheck they should too get taxed like the rest of Americans.
What I am trying to say is that the government needs to be fair, and not just pick and choose which companies pay taxes and which don't, and when it comes to cutting programs be wise in the decisions they make, to see the benefits and the consequences that may lie in the future by making these decisions. The government needs to open their eyes and see what they are doing and what they are not doing.

The White House not keeping their word, what?

This editorial that I found in the New York times caught my attention because it had the title of The Food Crisis written Febuarary 24, 2011, and I love food so i got intrigued. The author first started describing how the prices of food have gone up and other countries aren't able to afford higher prices on food, and that the G-20, a group of finance ministers and central bank governors, promised that they would give $22 billion over the next three years to countries that are in need to boost food production. But to this date the world bank who was supposed to get that money has only received less that $400 million. This may seem like a lot, and it is, but when you promise something else its just not the same. The Obama administration saw that the G-20 was helping out other countries, and decided to join in promising $3.5 billion to the world bank but so far they have only given $66.6 million. Now from where I grew up people always told me "your only as good as your word", and when I found out our own government hasn't kept their word on giving money to help countries in need, that made me really sad. So I agree with this author when they say that our government needs to keep their word, and if not no one else will.

Obama Cutting Again...

So I know most people like me don't like reading news because its just so depressing, but the fact is, its reality. This news article i read from UsaToday says that Barrack Obama is going to cut $2.5 Billion from a $5 billion program that provides heating for the poor, I just think that is ridiculous, that he is taking money from that project that is helping the poor. Instead of stop spending money on pointless things that don't work at all, he has already spent more money than Bush in 8 years already. These are the reasons i don't like reading or watching the news, because Obama isn't fair when it comes to spending and cutting. Why would he cut $2.5 billion that provides heat to the poor, especially in winter...But i encourage one to read this article or any other article in the news to be informed and become active in our government.
